Media apprenticeship involves many aspects such as advertising, digital marketing, broadcasting; film production; journalism etc… Media apprenticeship is perfectly suited for those who enjoy working with cameras, filming short videos, acting and people who enjoy freelancing. However, it is a competitive industry and you will need to network well. Apprenticeships will provide you the perfect platform to network and get vital experience.
Similar to other apprenticeships you will work and study. This will provide you the ideal experience to understand which way you would like your career path to head. In general media apprenticeships will be more hands on, unless you go into the software side of it. This is because you will need to travel to different locations, move around the filming/broadcasting studio, which can be very large sometimes.
Level 3: You will need to be at least 16 years old, living in the country and have at least 5 GCSE at grades A*-C (9-4) including math and english.
Level 4/5: You will need to be at least 16 years old, living in the country and have a level 3 qualification in the sector you are applying too or equivalent (i.e. A-levels).
Level 6/7: You will need to be at least 16 years old, living in the country and have a level 4/5 qualification in the sector you are applying too or equivalent (i.e. A-levels, note the grade requirements will be higher than level 4/5 entry).
