Civil engineering is vital for the development of a country, where they are paramount for the advancement of infrastructure (buildings, roads, power supply, hospitals, transport etc...). If you enjoy designing and developing buildings or cities then civil engineering is perfect, however, it will not be an easy degree. Civil engineers have the opportunity to work with public and private organisations, which means they will always have a place to work. It will also be possible to work in other countries as the building principles will not change from country to country.

Entry requirements will vary from university to university, however, all will require BBB or higher with most asking for at least AAA. You will need to have maths as one of the A-level qualifications.
